A Review of Entrecard’s best move yet

Right after Blog World Expo last year (or was it the year before? I’m old and forget things you know) this little company came on the social networking traffic-share scene…Entrecard.

For a while Shoemoney was using them and lots of people were trying to get the hang of how the whole thing worked, me included. Then, like many things on the Internet – it slipped my mind.

About a week ago rumblings were heard and Entrecard was back in my sights. I saw that a lot of high quality sites had joined up and I was excited to get back into the swing of things.

Then…the announcement happened….

It seems that Entrecard made a friend in the industry and they go together like peanut butter and chocolate!

SezWho is a site that not only uses the same graphics for their website as I do on my book cover (check out http://www.nontoxicnetworking.com and then http://www.sezwho.com) but have an ingenious idea of tracking and rating sites across the Internet.

Now that SezWho has partnered with Entrecard here’s how that breaks down:

• There is a plugin for SezWho that can be installed into self-hosted WordPress blogs (sure there are other blogs, but I don’t know about them…)
• The plugin allows other Entrecard/SezWho users to earn credits by leaving comments on your blog.

Now do you see why this is huge? I mean, everyone wants more comments, and now you can get rewarded for sharing your opinion on someone’s blog post. Before there was that tipping point of wanting to say something but wondering if it was really worth the time and effort to log in, post a comment, put in your url, and all that.

No more. Now you get something for commenting. Well, other than the blogger’s undying love and affection – because we all love comments!

I think this is a genius move on the part of Entrecard and look forward to seeing where this new merger takes not only the companies, but the participants of this brave new traffic world.
