image Do you remember that song, “Yummy, yummy, yummy I feel love in my tummy - and I feel like-a lovin’ you!”

We have received a plethora of Fruitwells Freeze Dried Fruit Snacks (that’s a mouthful, isn’t it?) and for the first time my kids are getting five servings of fruit a day without it coming in a box with a straw.

Want to know how much my kids liked them? Read on…there’s even a video on this one!

What it Came With

  • Apple fruit snacks
  • Banana fruit snacks
  • Pineapple fruit snacks

My Expectations

After sampling and reviewing other fruit snacks I expected the same thing from the Fruitwell snacks - Small pieces with big taste. But something about the Arie, Natural Foods freeze drying process mean I was suprised when I opened the package. The pieces of banana were the same size as the slices I make here with a fresh banana.  The slices of apple were, again, the same size (a little thinner) than a real piece of apple. There was also no powder like there are on other freeze dried snacks.

It was really amazing. They were sturdy and did not crumble (I totally expected them to) when I handed them over to the kids.

Sturdy and big, the kids eat less of them than they do with the smaller snacks. Plus, they’re TASTY. Seriously, amazingly tasty.

The Results

I didn’t really want to share with the kids. We came to a compromise. I get the pineapple and I’d give them the apple and banana. They wanted all of them and there was seriously almost a fight at one point. In the video, you will see that my little one is not eating out of the bowl. Watch her hands, there is a reason she’s not paying attention to the four little pieces in her bowl.

Even the back of the package makes me feel good. Sure, there are sugar in the snacks, but that’s because there is natural sugar in fruit. No sugar is added to the snacks. Nothing makes me happier than to look on the back of the bag and see INGREDIENTS: Bananas. I know I’m doing something great for my kids, you know?

Here is another excerpt from the back of the package:

We don’t use any sulfides, phosphates, added sugars or preservatives when processing our fruit. When you grab a bag of Fruitwell freeze-dried fruit, you get a bag of the finest fruit with nothing extra added to it.

How can that not make you feel good about these snacks as an alternative to gummi snacks for your kids?

Conclusion

My kids love these snacks. My only regret is that when I got my samples they had not come out with the mango yet. I can only imagine how good those are. You can buy them on the Ariel Natural Foods website. I see they even have papaya now. My mouth is watering. Seriously.
