Fake Tree - Real Wreath - How I Get My Evergreen Fix

best wreaths

I am horribly allergic to evergreen. Our tree is fake, our decorations are fake…it’s all fake.

So I don’t get that amazing evergreen smell through my home that I love. Sure I’ve tried candles, but it just isn’t the same. I said to my husband in October, “I wish there was some way I could get that great evergreen smell without sniffling and sneezing and getting hives the whole Christmas season.”

Then I got the chance to review a wreath! From Grandma D’s Tree & Wreath Farm no less. How could I say no to a family owned farm specializing in evergreen that goes on the outside of my door??

While I did get hives when I opened the package and pulled out the wreath, I didn’t even notice. The wreath is huge and beautiful and it has these amazing juniper berries hanging from it and this divine red bow that had me too overwhelmed to notice my need for calamine lotion.

I put it on the front door and just stood back staring at it for a few moments…did I mention this wreath is big? I could see it easily from my sidewalk, and I’m sure my neighbors are wondering why I chose this year to have Christmas spirit as they drive by, able to easily see my wreath from the street.

Not only is it lovely and big, it’s sturdy too. Even though it was shipped in a cardboard box without any packing material (I don’t think bubble wrap goes well with pokey evergreen boughs) only one itty-bitty piece disloged and hung out all alone at the bottom of the box. When I say small piece, I mean a half inch wide by two inches long. Small. Certainly not noticable since the wreath is so full it looks amazing.

Now that I have my own wreath, I’m noticing the wreaths of others on my street and in my town. I’m seeing sparse wreaths, small wreaths, and really - they all look kind of sad compared to my amazing wreath. I’m sure those people have oodles of spirit and love their wreaths, but that hasn’t stopped me from being proud of my wreath.

Even though I received this wreath to review, the site is in my bookmarks because now that I have experienced the awesomeness of having a big wreath on my front door (that makes me smile every time I come home and see it hanging on my door) I will never be without a wreath again.

Check out the wreaths and get your own instant Christmas cheer at Gramma D’s Wreath Farm and Wreaths Direct. You’ll be so glad you did! Plus, it will make your neighbors totally jealous…not that I’m into that, but, you know, just sayin’

Fresh wreaths are the way to go. I always get a bunch of cedar because for me that smell is Christmas having always had a cedar tree growing up!

Hives are not fun. Perhaps you can be comforted by the knowledge that it was all done in service of the Christmas spirit?

Being allergic to life itself, I was surprised that mine didn’t make me break out in hives too. However, it is a beautiful wreath.

I am prone to asthma, so our wreath is hanging on our front door - where our neighbors can see it - but it does smell lovely and it is beautiful. I can relate to your allergies. The holidays are tough for us! But in the holiday spirit, we try!
