Febreze Flameless Luminary – Smells Good, Looks OK

Today a box showed up at my door.
Always excited at seeing a box on my doorstep I quickly brought it to the office, grabbed the scissors and got the package open.
Inside was this…
Pretty, right?
Then I just had to figure out what the heck it was!
Turns out Febreze has a new home collection they are showing off through bloggers – they probably haven’t had a chance to read how picky I am about scents or they might have run the other way.
Febreze Home Collections Flameless Luminary Starter Kit
The scent they sent (say THAT five times fast) was green tea citrus. Just reading that made me feel a little calmer.
The pros:
It smells good and isn’t overwhelming. A little sweet, but not too sweet and the citrus is a great, clean smell. Also, the scent is determined by the paper shade, so when you change your scent you change your look. There are also holiday-themed
shades – it’s a fun way to change up something small in the office and feel “in the spirit.”
The cons:
The flickering light is that weird orange color that fake candles sometimes have.
It’s still nice, but I prefer a more natural looking light.
The conclusion:
It’s going to live on my desk. I am not able to have candles lit anywhere in the house with two preschoolers, two dogs, a puppy, and a big ‘ol 8-month pregnant belly all just waiting for an opportunity to knock something over. This is a really nice way to have a candle-like object in the house without any of the danger that comes from, you know, flames.
With a retail price of $15.99 (the starter kit comes with two shades that should last approx. one week each) and refill packs of six total going for $16.00 this may be something that I keep around for looks more than refilling and keeping the scent up. If I kept up with the refill kits that would be $2.67/wk. for fresh fragrance – $138.84 a year…not a car payment or anything but still a lot for a luxury item that makes me calm enough just looking at it, I don’t know if I really need to smell it.
So I would buy the starter kit, but would probably wait for a coupon or a sale. Then, I’d buy the refills once in a while for holidays or if I really needed some aromatherapy.
They do smell nice, though…

Bought the starter kit to-day but having trouble finding the holiday scent refills. Can I order any> From where? Lois
